About Monika Turska.

I’m a leader and operator, turned accredited Executive Coach and Advisor.

I’ve always been drawn to exploring what’s possible at the intersections, where different perspectives, domains and systems meet - and new thinking and possibilities emerge.

I started my professional career as a software engineer, at a time when there were even fewer of us: women in tech

(and I believe we still have so much work to do on the inclusion front).

A master’s degree in computer science took me deep into technical complexity and opened up early cross-cultural experiences working across Poland, Macedonia, and Mexico.

Early on my work shifted to the intersection of people, business, and technology. I moved to London in my 20s. and stepped into product, people and organisational leadership roles across B2B technology startups and enterprises, with senior product leadership roles at the BBC and Bain & Company.

I led teams, portfolios and departments through high growth and rapid change. Strategy pivots, operating model transformations, takeovers, restructures and layoffs. Across industries, sectors and markets. There were periods when the pace and pressure came at a personal cost to my health, relationships, and sense of self.

Developing people and future leaders has been the most fulfilling part of my roles. I had successes and made mistakes. Some learnings took me years to land. Each one posed a choice about the kind of leader — and person — I wanted to become.

I learned the important and fulfilling job of a leader, the privilege and a great responsibility, the weight of holding the space.

The power of listening and asking questions, much greater than having the answers. I learned the importance of making good decisions at the right time, and involving the right people in the process. And the cost of avoiding difficult conversations. I learned when to step forward and when to serve from the back. I developed a deep appreciation for trust - how it’s built, how easily it can be broken, and how central it is to effective leadership.

Coaching found me first as something I benefited from, then as something I realised I'd been doing throughout my leadership work: creating space for people to think more clearly, ask harder questions, and find their own way forward.

On a personal note, I’m Polish and British. I grew up in Gdansk by the Baltic coast in Poland, the birthplace of the Solidarity movement. I moved to London in my mid-20s, where I built much of my career and broadened my perspectives. I love walking and that’s when a lot of my deep thinking happens.
